Pop Art Superheroes or Characters
Students created Pop Art inspired characters. They first created a newspaper collage background using glue and water to attach the newspaper to a piece of cardboard. Characters were drawn using a grid method on a separate sheet of paper and then transferred to the collage. The characters were then painted using acrylics. Finally students added a word or phrase that connected to the character they chose. |
String Art/Nail Art
Students use nails and string or yarn to create an image on a board. First, the board is painted if desired and then the image is either drawn directly on the board or on a sheet of paper. The sheet of paper is placed directly on the board, centered, and then the nailing begins. After all the nails are applied, the paper is torn out carefully so none of the nails are loosened. Yarn is then used to connect from nail to nail to fill-in the image.
